About the Gainesville Holistic Health Fair
Music, art, poetry, dance, workshops, classes, nourishing traditions food, children's classes, and an amazing array of holistic health practitioners. The health fair was created to give our community an opportunity to see, speak with, and experience a wide variety of holistic health practitioners and their specialties. Proceeds from the fair will go to our three nonprofit sponsors: Habitat for Humanity-Women Build, Harvest of Hope-Paths to Scholarship, and the Gainesville Breast Milk Fund.
Expect to be entertained at every turn, and informed, and amazed. There will be at least 15 workshops, two or three each hour (see schedule). In addition, we are providing five different programs especially for families with children. All day long there will be musical performances, dance and movement demonstrations, and spoken word poetry. Artists will be displaying their work, and ThirdEyeSpoken poets will perform their poetry in the courtyard as you enjoy your delicious nourishing lunch.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase already-prepared Nourishing Traditions food. (For more information about this wonderful healthful way of eating, see www.westonaprice.org).
Fair visitors will have the opportunity to meet holistic health practitioners and receive sample sessions for just $20.
Information will be available from all sources, since the fair is small and intended for networking, learning, and communication. A wide variety of workshops will be offered. Instructors of Reiki, Chi Kung, Yoga, Tai Chi, Spirit Dance, and Infra Red Light Therapy will be there to show-and-tell. Doulas, midwives, lactation counselors, and perinatal massage therapists will provide information on birth options. The Weston A. Price Foundation and Florida Association for Raw Milk will be represented, and will provide free information on nutrition and healthy eating. We will even have holistic pet care specialists!
Vendors will sell metaphysical gifts, jewelry, books, traditional crafts, BioPro™ EMF protection devices, natural soaps, and more, and people can have their aura photographed in color with the results analyzed.
Nonprofits for alternative nutrition, international and domestic peace, abundance, and justice, sustainability, alternative media, AIDS, women's issues, and raw milk will provide information on their work in our community, so we can find out why Gainesville is such a wonderful place to live.
Our nonprofit sponsors will receive the profits from the health fair. They are Habitat for Humanity-Women Build, Harvest of Hope-Paths to Scholarship, and the Gainesville Breast Milk Fund.
The cost is $5 donation for adults, children are free with an accompanying adult. Each dollar donated goes to buy a raffle ticket, and door prize drawings will be held each hour throughout the day, so those present and listening are likely to bring home a special prize.
